A swarm can arrive quickly. An established colony can quietly build inside a wall, roof, tree, shed, or other protected space. We assess the situation, explain the options, and work toward a safe, practical removal and relocation.

A swarm often appears as a large cluster of honey bees hanging from a branch, fence, building, vehicle, or other surface. Swarms can move again with little warning, so call or text as soon as you see one.
Our goal is to save honey bees whenever the situation can be handled safely and practically. Rescued colonies can be transferred into managed hive equipment and moved to a suitable apiary or host property.

Golden State Bee Rescue was established in Placerville, California, in 2015. What began with managing honey bee colonies in the local area grew into an ongoing effort to help people remove unwanted colonies while giving honey bees another place to live. We continue to manage bees, respond to swarm calls, and look for suitable locations where rescued colonies can be cared for.
